    The Eiffel Tower

    Certainly the most photographed landmark of Paris, the Eiffel Tower can make stylish snaps from many different angles, including Place du Trocadéro, the Champs-de-Mars and Pont de Bir-Hakeim, just to name a few. There's hotels aplenty surrounding the Eiffel Tower, just be prepared to pay a little extra.

    The Avenue des Champs-Élysées

    Get to the top of the Arc de Triomphe to take an impressive photo from above "the most beautiful avenue in the world". At dusk, you can try to take a long-exposure snap of the traffic with the Arc de Triomphe in the background from one of the pedestrian islands in the middle of the road. Try to avoid getting run over in the process.

    Macaroons on display in a pastry shop

    Take a photo of the macaroons in the window of Ladurée on Avenue des Champs-Elysees or at Pierre Hermé on Rue Bonaparte before entering these famous pastry shops to sample their delicious creations. It's okay to have a cheat day once in a while.

    Château of Versailles

    From the Hall of Mirrors to the gardens to the Grand Trianon, you should have plenty of free space in your camera’s memory card for a visit to the Château of Versailles as you'll have no shortage of great photo opportunities.  If you're planning a longer stay in Versaille, be sure to book into one of the hotels located close to the palace. Paris is an hour's drive away.

    The Louvre

    A selfie with the Mona Lisa may be difficult to take because of the crowd in the room. Fortunately, the Louvre Museum hosts such an impressive number of unique pieces of arts that you should be able to find a place for your taste and bring back a few great shots. The outside of the building, with its iconic glass pyramid, is also worth a few snaps. If you're looking for accommodation, browse the options close to the 1st Arrondissement.

    The Palais Royal

    Get to the Cour d'Honneur (the Honour Courtyard) to take a cool photo of yourself at the top of one of the columns designed and added by the French artist Daniel Burens in 1986. The contrast between the neoclassical buildings and the modern columns is startling.

    Pont Neuf

    Funnily enough, the Pont Neuf (the New Bridge) is the oldest standing bridge of Paris. It dates back to the 16th century and it’s located at the western end of the Île de la Cité, across the Seine River.

    The Galeries Lafayette

    The Galeries Lafayette is an iconic symbol of the rebirth of Paris, revamped by Haussmann during the 19th century. This upmarket department store was completed in 1912 and it’s designed in a stunning Art Nouveau style.

    Palais Garnier Opéra

    Blending Baroque, Classic and Renaissance architectural styles, the façade of the Opéra Garnier is really photogenic. Don’t hesitate to enter to take a few snaps as the interior is as magnificent as the exterior.

    The Jardin du Luxembourg

    Take a breath of fresh air in the 17th-century Luxembourg park. Fountains, statues, tree-lined promenades, flowerbeds and basins offer a great choice of subjects for photographers. Hotels situated around the 6th Arrondissement are a good option.

    The Catacombs

    It may sound gruesome, but the Catacombs of Paris offer one of the most exciting backgrounds for taking ‘off-the-beaten-track’ photos. The main access to this underground ossuary is on Avenue du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy, in the 14th Arrondissement. Just remember to be respectful – they were living people once.
