Not really what I expected
If you are used to Sheraton general standard/quality, I advice you to lower your expectations. It is not the Sheraton I am used to:
- The whole building is old and in need of renovation
- The carpet was wet on the floor in our room when we got there. The housekeeping lady had just left so we thought it was just wet from something of the cleaning (inevitable that socks got very wet), but it turned out that the air conditioner was leaking so we had to call maintenance who came there with a big machine, removed the ceiling in the hallway and fixed the AC problem that caused the leakage.
- The electrical outlets in the room were a bit loose. When inserting the hotels power adapters, it got loose, it could not really take the extra weight from the adapter, so I had to mitigate this by having the garbage bin underneath to support the weight of the cable.
- The hotel offers a shuttle bus service as the hotel is app. 20-30 min away from the city center of Rome. I was constantly charged differently for this. I do not really care about the cost itself, but the inconsistency of the daily different information impacted hotel perception. It can not be that hard to educate the personnel on what rules apply.
- The staff in the Concierge and reception were quite stressed, I am used to Sheraton hotel guests not really being exposed to this
- It is possible to take bus & tram to the city center instead of the hotel's shuttle, however the bus stop when arriving did not feel safe, very dark.
