Candlewood Suites Portland - Scarborough

Newly renovated room with a small kitchen (with count top room, sink, big fridge, flat cooktop - 2 burners). Very clean, sleek and new, they paid attention to details when they just renovated. Furniture is modern and minimalist yet cozy and relaxing color pallet. Room had flat screen TV I didn't measure but it's at least 50 inches. Queen bed was very comfortable so were the 4 pillows. I was told laundry was onsite in main building and is free. Small gym also on-site, good size for a hotel gym. No breakfast option but they do have snacks for sale at reception area. There is a Star supermarket right across the street (5 minute walk) and all the shopping stores you need within a 2-10 minute drive. Harry was on call at the reception desk and he was very friendly and fast to check me in. Also, following morning after I've checked out, he came outside to tell me that I can borrow an ice scraper (since my car was frozen in a sheet of ice and he saw me just out the window struggling). Talk about great service! 5-stars for all reason.

I enjoyed staying here very much. I would highly recommend this hotel when in the Portland area. The room was very clean and spacious. Overall, an extremely good experience.

We were placed in a handicap room so the shower was not something we were used to and it caused bathroom flooding. Another issue was that when we asked for extra towels, we had to turn in our towels at the front desk. I don't know if the hotel has an issue with people stealing towels but that's ridiculous.
