Residence Inn Alexandria Old Town/Duke Street by Marriott

It was a shame that special evenings weren’t spread out during the week. We arrived on Thursday and the evenings took place Monday through Wednesday. Would have been nice to have been informed of the renovation works before hand, but nothing they did interfered with our stay. The only gripe I have is that the food warmers they were using didn’t really do their job very well and I ended up with cold waffles every day. On a plus note, their coffee is amazing

Under renovation-understandable, it's a little tired. We couldn't get our room cool enough at night for our comfort. Did have a backed up toilet twice. We left the room and came back, new toilet paper was there, wouldn't flush, maintenance very prompt. when the plunger failed to fix it, they showed up with the snake next. no further problems. I do wish they would have told us about renovation before arrival..We might have gone somewhere else...

Breakfast was not enjoyable

There was construction being done (remodeling) while we stayed. Lobby was a complete mess. Could not carry a conversation on with front desk due to jack Hammering going on. We stayed on the seventh Floor for two days and had to listen to jack hammering both days. Not Good!!

The hotel was beautiful, staff was incredibly friendly. Complimentary breakfast was well put together. Had an issue with the shower knob coming apart but maintenance was there fast and very helpful.
