Holiday Inn Express Rolling Meadows - Schaumburg Area, an IHG Hotel

I understand the COVID thing but I booked a hotel w/a pool during the heat spell in Chicago & all pooling was closed down. I booked it online (Hotels.com), which of course could not guarantee so BUYER BEWARE. Disappointed. Specific driving instructions were to drive just beyond an "abandoned" Holiday Inn to find the "right" Holiday Inn (amusing but not entertained). I stayed on the 4th floor and due to a hinge problem the door was off kilter. It didn't seemed to close properly but why should a guest even have to worry or wonder about a door let alone their safety? When I took elevator up to 5th floor for ice that floor seemed ABANDONED as 3 ceiling tiles were removed exposing lighting/wiring above just before the ice machine. Ronald at the front desk was very kind.

The rooms were newly refurbished. Location was great. Only problem I had was that the ice machine was not working on our floor. I had to go to 3 different floors to find a working one.

4/10 hotel, basic rooms, basic lobby, nothing fancy, vending machines and ice machines didn't work.

Parking lot has a lot of snow they did not remove snow

Rooms don’t look like they look in the pictures. Def not the best services. Room included balcony, yet there were no rooms available. The front desk guy was not attentive. He kept apologizing for seohkgn he did wrong wished he would have avoided it all completely because he was not sincere. Basically payed for a room with nothing I asked for. The tv furniture had dust all over ! Don’t recommend staying here. Might as well just freeze your butt outside or stay in your car.

Breakfast was excellent, staff was very helpful, room was newly renovated with good amenities.Hotel airport shuttle service was on time.

Clean, quiet and comfortable...!!!

Not worth the money spent. Mean staff and old facility.
