Catalonia Gran Vía

Place was ok place to stay. It is on the pricier side and is pretty central to things downtown. Problem is that it is on a busy street so its hard to hail a cab or uber. The gym was a joke with only one working treadmill. Pool was essentially a cold hot tub. Shower worked fine however I did have to complain about a slow draining drain. They do have two restaurants downstairs with pretty good food. I did appreciate that however was well understaffed with two waiters for over 20 tables. The manager didn't seem to help her staff other than ask people to fill out surveys. Seemed as if she was more interested in a nice review opposed to assisting her staff. Other than that I give this place a solid B grade

Great location, nice hotel. Only issue was WiFi which was very weak at times and other times was fine.

Overall, it was a very beautiful and clean hotel with great breakfast and great location. However, 2 things annoyed me. 1. I have been asked if I was interested for a room upgrade If I was willing to pay extra money at check in time. I said no but was still giving the upgrade for free afterwards. Nice gesture but I found it weird to try and get money from customers for upgrades if you can do it for free (like many other hotels do!!!). 2. I also needed to pay 5 euros for slippers which I found crazy as everyone would expect them free of charge when paying 300 euros a night. Staff was good but not very smiling or friendly. It was my first time in this hotel and a bit disappointed with the service.

Was only here one night as I was flying out the next morning. Great hotel. I had a room on the 7th floor that had an amazing balcony. Ideal location as everything is in walking distance. Great service, would stay here again.
