Old fashioned hotel. But also an interesting place
The hotel i nicely situated along Donau. The hotel is in reality two hotels; Hotel Delta 3 and Hotel Delta 4. "3" is related to "three stars" and "4" to "four stars". The Delta 3-building might be about 50 years old. When you come in to the reception and the surroundings, you get the feeling of the old Romania, ruled by the communists. The restaurant is a "must" to see. Gigantic big with a lot of ta-bles, every one perfectly prepared for ten (10) guests!! And in this gigantic restaurant, we were only two guests in the afternoon served by three waiters! Yes, it was really an air from the old communist era and we almost expected to meet Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu there. However, the food was very tasty.
The room needed a significant fresh up. The door was broken (but could be locked with the key). The WC-chair seemed to be from the second world war and the bathtub was difficult to go in to and worse to go out from. The shower handset is not possible to describe. It must be seen!
The room was clean, but it was no Internet in the room. The breakfast was "OK" but not more than that. To recommend staying here? Yes, why not? Can be interesting for everyone to live in a hotel as they did in the old communist era. But if you have doubts, book Hotel Delta 4 which is about 10-15 years old.
