Cleve Court Hotel

Cleveland Court Hotel seemed to be a superior B&B, which provides meals if required. Our room was lovely, comfortable bed with tea and coffee + biscuits. Very small but adequate bathroom with separate shower cubicle. About a 5 minute downhill stroll to Paignton harbour, with private parking. The only complaint we had was that it was not made clear to us that, as the hotel was fairly empty the nights we stayed, we needed to ask if we wanted to use the bar, having returned from a meal in town, we found it in darkness so assumed it was closed. Also it seemed mealtimes were quite restricted but again we were told we could have requested a later time but it would have been helpful if this had been made clear in advance. We cancelled a meal because we were offered a 6.00pm time but we're later told by one of the owners that we could have eaten later if we had asked. Overall, we would recommend it on the basis of comfort of the room, friendliness of the owners and the close proximity to the sea front. It was getting late in the season, mid September, when we stayed and at the time the hotel seemed to be very quiet.

A nice friendly comfortable, clean guest house/small hotel. The facilities were superior to the 2 star rating the hotel has been given. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a very large choice and was delicious. We would stay again and would recommend this hotel to others.

From the moment we arrived we were subjected to the most friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble, we arrived as guests but left as friends and that was down to Dave, Carole and Margaret. the breakfast's were superb. will definitely stay again!...John and Brenda Chapman
