Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta - All Inclusive

will never stay anywhere else in Puerto Vallarta. We were treated like family members the whole time very great service and wow so clean and sanitary.

This was one of the most amazing place that I have ever been too. We travel a lot to different places. But the service we got at the VIP Cabana from Manuel and Carlos and David was the best you can possibly get anywhere that we have traveled too.

The area we stayed in was adults only and the fact that the staff were so attentive to all of our needs.

We had a great week staying at Secrets. They were not over the top with covid restrictions and we still had a great time. The restaurants were very good. Only complaint was they do a hard push on a timeshare presentation when you check-in.

Nice looking resort but could be so much better. Had a swim out room on the Secrets side and wouldn’t recommend it. The pool waters pretty chilly. Had an iguana relieve himself on the pool ledge and tried in vain to get it cleaned for two days. View was not great either from the swim out. The food was ok. Nothing special. I’d say Bordeaux, their French restaurant was the best. Drinks throughout the hotel weren’t great. I had the worst Old Fashioned I’ve ever had. All others were mediocre. The main pools were nice. The grounds are well kept. Most of the staff was good. The one exception was the pool swim up bar bartender. We were with a large group and periodically would order shots or several drinks at a time. On several occasions he was noticeably upset over having to prepare the drinks. I tipped him $20 one day and his attitude only slightly improved. The liquor selection was not the best. At one point the pool bar ran out of tequila and couldn’t make a margarita. Running out of tequila in Mexico is like running out of snow in the Antarctic. Music by the pool wasn’t great either. Song selection was good but it seemed like the DJ was a staff member they gave a 20 min tutorial on how to use the equipment. Puerto Vallarta was really nice. The romantic zone earns its name. Overall had a good vacation mostly due to our attitude of not letting the aforementioned issues ruin our fun. Mind you, this is my first bad review ever.

Very nice property. The property next door is not. Roosters and a bus depot lots of noise. Obviously there isn’t anything they can do about that

The property was nice, the food was great, and the staff was friendly... The problem was there invasion of privacy, they would require you to wear a mask walking in the restaurant, in the lobby, and even to go to the bathroom... They also would take your temperature when you left the resort or would try to enter...I do not think guests should be forced to wear masks, or have there temperature taken, for this one reason I will travel to places that do not have these restrictions... The masks do not make me feel safer, but actually make me feel very uncomfortable, and they are not doctors and have no reason to take every persons temperature and require cloth masks...

Secrets was an excellent place to stay. The staff was very considerate and hospitable. Our room was clean and had a balcony and an amazing view. There are many different restaurants to choose from. There was always some sort of activity to do- paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, volleyball, water aerobics, etc. It was very easy to get transportation to and from the airport as well. Oscar G. treated us very well and helped us out quite a bit.

Pros: Nice hotel. Amazing views. Great spa. I also have to give a shout out to the very few staff members who were friendly and empathetic while we stayed there. Lenny, Jean, Saira, Humberto, and Alba were top notch and other staff can learn a lot from them. Cons: Horrible customer service throughout. I slipped while trying to get into the pool. It seems someone applied sunscreen and it was much slippery than usual and I went flying into the pool. While trying to catch myself, I dislocated my arm and due to the adrenaline and embarrassment I did not feel it. I swam and it popped back in, but it was still painful, sore, and left my arm a bit swollen. When I went to go tell them at reception, they immediately blamed me EVEN THOUGH I was just going to tell them to be careful and that a small gesture as a sign saying it was slippery would suffice seeing as the first day there they also gave me food with fish even though I told them I had a fish allergy. At the end I ended up paying $2000 after their in-house doctor saw me and sent me to their "private clinic that accepted my insurance" when they actually didn't. They didn't even have the courtesy of paying for my taxi. The next day nobody asked me how I was doing. The staff actually looked the other way and avoided all contact with me. They didn't even have the forms I signed ready for me or even offered them. I had to ask for them and even then they gave me a hard time. I just needed them for my insurance. Worst place ever.
