Paradise Suites Hotel

The atmosphere and look is very artificial and cold. Not what we expected when staying at Halong Bay. Breakfast is sub-par compared to other hotel breakfasts we had. The food attendants have poor hygiene as they kept wiping their noses and sneezing around the food. Rare to see staff openly dirty around food. Should've stayed 1 night or taken a day trip to Halong from Hanoi.

False misrepresentation on Hotels.com as with the location of the pool...over 3km away from the hotel..Hotel denied/argued this factor.. Noisy continuous thoroughfare of buses/traffic to Marina right next to the pool. Disjointed hotel arranged over 4 different buildings.a very odd setup only normally accustomed to a resort. OK hotel if you like staying within an assortment of diffrrent building sites.

Our overall stay at Paradise was okay. We booked the transfer from Hanoi city with the hotel which was late for over an hour. We expected more since it was quite pricey compared to other transfer services. When we arrived the receptionist was apologetic so we didn't think much of it. The room was clean, nice and spacious. But the noise level from the outside was horrible. You can hear pretty much everything. There were some stains on one of the robes in the room and the hotel slippers were used (not new). We didnt use them. On our second day there, it was raining hard at night (around 9pm) and water started to leak from the ceiling right on top of our bed. We called the receptionist and she told us someone's going to come to check on it. No one ever showed up. We ended up pushing our bed to the middle of our room to avoid the water dripping. The next morning we mentioned it again to the receptionist and she apologized and she said there's nothing they can do except moving us to a different room. But since they were "full" they can only downgrade us. We decide to stay in our room. Luckily for us, the rest of the trip was sunny. The breakfast was pretty good. This area is still developing a lot. Almost nothing to do in the area except for HaLong Cruise, which can be done in a day trip and maybe SunWorld, which was pretty nice.

Value for money but nothing more than a simple stay

Stayed overnight for a boat trip in the bay, hotel has electric cars to take you the 2 minutes to ferry terminal, cost £12 each for a trip, hotel and staff amazing
