Alaya Ubud

Trevlig personal, god mat och dryck i hotellets restauranger men dyrt. Vid ankomst hade vårt täcke blodfläckar samt att lakanen hade fläckar. Ringde på personal som kom och bytte på en gång. Skön säng men dubbelsängen var ihopsatt av två sängar så det var en skåra i mitten. Frukosten var helt ok. Vi blev tillfrågade om vi ville ha påfyllning på kaffe, men detta glömdes bort. Överlag ett bra hotell men småsakerna gjorde att det inte blev den perfekta hotellvistelsen.

Fabulous resort near Ubud town centre. Staff members were attentive and provided service with a smile. In-house spa was great! Resort grounds are uneven (big pebbles/step-stones) and very dim at night and might not be suitable for old people or young kids. Breakfast was basic buffet items plus a decent ala carte menu. Good enough for a 2 to 3 day stay. Pool was small. Do note that family rooms are actually two seperate side by side rooms with no interconnecting door.

Fabulous hotel. Laid back vibe which comes across in room service / bag delivery at checkin. I was upgraded to the new building and the room was stylish, clean and comfortable. Four bottles of water were provided per day. Afternoon tea / coffee served with local cakes was a real treat, and a lovely touch by the hotel. Cocktail hour by the pool was also great. The pools and gardens are clean and very well kept. I didn’t think the breakfast buffet selection was very exciting, but the eggs Benedict was nice. As a result I dined out for breakfast during the rest of the stay. This was fine as there are great restaurants around particularly Café du Monyet. Overall this hotel is a beautiful oasis of tranquility and a walk away from the main town. It is on the south side and there are plenty of lovely restaurants and cheap massage places nearby. As a solo traveller I felt safe. Negatives: When I went to boil the kettle I found someone had made soup inside and the kettle hadn’t been cleaned. Shows the final check of the room wasn’t done properly. The shower gels, shampoo, lotions etc are hand made and smell divine which is lovely however I would have preferred that the bottles didn’t look as if they had been used over and over by previous guests. It didn’t feel hygienic. Towels were a bit off white but that seems to be the thing in Bali. Also The Yoga Barn is next door with all day yoga classes and restaurants. Overall I’d love to come back and revisit this hotel.

Location is really good. Rooms and amenities are very good. And the most important, BEST Balinese cuisine I have ever had. Food was really from other planet. They should promote that a lot more.

Loved this resort, great location, wonderful service and staff. Would definitely stay there again.
