DO NOT STAY HERE - DANGEROUS!
I have previously stayed at the Abode Narrabundah without any problems, and was surprised upon arrival this time to see the exterior was absolutely FILTHY.
However, clearly the poor maintenance extends inside. As I was getting ready to have an early night, the air conditioning vent in my room fell open, the entire filter fell out, smashing crockery, making a huge noise which frightened both me and my dogs.
The property is not staffed after 8pm and when I phoned the help line, I was asked whether this is a serious problem! We were lucky nobody was hurt!!!
There were no other rooms in this property so they moved me to the Abode in Kingston - they initially wanted to move me to Belconnen or Gungahlin, but I'd booked Narrabundah to be close to the event I was attending.
Again, there are no check in staff at Kingston after 8pm, and it wasn't until the next morning that I was able to ask for access to the garage. I was then told that parking at Kingston isn't free, but they'll make an exception in my case. I mean, it's not as though I chose to stay at this property.
At no point have I received any sort of apology or assistance from Abode. Despite the danger we were put in, and the extreme inconvenience. After driving almost 9 hours to get to Canberra, I did not really want to pack up all my things, move to a different hotel, and have to unpack everything all over again, all after 9pm.
This property is HAZARDOUS.
