Tabard Inn

This is not a conventional hotel. Staying here feels like going in a time machine back to, I don't know, the 50s maybe. I stayed in a room with a shared bathroom which could have been bad but it was totally fine. I didn't see anyone else using the bathroom the entire time I was there. The employees are lovely and the restaurant delicious.

I love the Tabard! So friendly and such a wonderful restaurant. It's an oasis in the city!

The location and staff were fantastic. They have cornered the market on great customer service. The actual Inn and furnishings are in desperate need of renovation. The sofas and chairs need to be reupholstered and chests and tables were missing pulls and knobs and badly scratched.

Tabard Inn has a cozy, quirky atmosphere. There’s a nice restaurant/bar downstairs with a fireside living room feel. Nice touch that you get a $15 free food or drink voucher per night. The room was cute, if a little drafty. Shared bathroom was okay - didn’t have to wait and good shower - but it still feels ridiculous to pay a couple hundred dollars for a couple nights without a private bathroom. That passes as a steal for DuPont circle location though, so it was a good option for a couple days.

We stayed 5 nights at the Tabard Inn! It is a wonderful old boutique hotel in the best area of down town Washington, to be able to access the museums, tourist locations and restaurants. The rooms are a bit dated and old fashioned and could use a sprucing up, but overall very clean and nice. About what I expected from the promotional material. The restaurant in the Tabard is nothing short of excellent. We dined there twice!
