Hostal Rio Amazonas

Great location, right next door to Argentine consulate. Short walk to plenty of sights.

Old charming hotel with friendly staff and within walking distance of BellaVista for lots of restaurants. Rooms which were not air conditioned were very uncomfortable when temperatures were over 30*C

Room was a good size, no noise from neighbouring rooms. Location was great and staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathroom was a bit dark and breakfast was nothing special. Wifi was very good.

The Hostal Rio Amazonas is very centrally-located and walking distance to the Barrio Bellavista (neighborhood) with many restaurants and activities as well as to Metro Lines 1 and 5 (Baquedano station) which connect to most of Santiago. The staff is hospitable, friendly and professional, yet laid-back. I was able to have several conversations (in English) with them. They offer a wonderful, homemade table-service continental breakfast with fresh squeezed pear/kiwi juice. Our room on the second floor was away from the main road so we didn't hear any street noise. The only small issue is that it is an older, but remodeled, building and the wooden floors make quite a bit of noise when walking on it so I felt more concerned about waking up my roommate or the downstairs neighbor at night.

Great stay here, staff were friendly, and within walking distance to the metro and great restaurants.
