Newly renovated hotel in Midtown where I stayed 8 nights and I really enjoyed my stay.
The free Wi-Fi was really working great, there was complementary/free coffe at ground level and even an ATM.
I was high up in this 21 floor hotel so I wasn't bothered by any police sirens or street sounds since 29-30th street outside is also not that busy and the hotel itself is not facing 5th Ave. I really slept good in my room though the door and walls are very thin and you could easily be disturbed IF you happen to have a noisy/clumsy neighbor.
I would have given it a 10/10 if it weren't for that I had to request cleaning 3 times during 2 days to finally get it (all made in-person at front desk) and then, when housekeeping had cleaned my room, they didn't shut my hotel room door so when I came back after a walk, my hotel room door was visible open to anyone passing by to access my room and luggage. And no key card is needed in the elevators to access the hotel room floors, but this is maybe a European thing and maybe not so common in the US?
Luckily there is an in-room safe which had my laptop and valuables, only like 6 rooms per floor and cameras everywhere so I didn't loose anything. It was an honest mistake by housekeeping and they are clearly understaffed post-pandemic, so I am mostly disappointed on the hotel management (above front desk) handling of it. Front desk told me to send an email, I did, they confirmed they got it but no reply after 5 days. Still I would stay again.
