I was disappointed with my stay at High Creek Lodge & Cabins. While the property is newly renovated and tastefully decorated, the room itself was very basic and didn’t meet expectations. The pillows were uncomfortable, and I had concerns about cleanliness since they lacked pillow protectors. The sheets were low quality, scratchy, and unpleasant to sleep on. Although there was a coffee maker and tea provided, it would have been nice to have an option for decaffeinated tea, as well as an electric kettle for convenience. Personally, I would have preferred instant coffee over dealing with the coffee maker.
My biggest issue, however, was the cleanliness of the room. It was evident that the space hadn’t been properly cleaned before our arrival. There was hair and stains on the bedding, including inside the sheets, and hair was found on the shower walls, in the sink and tub, and even in the refrigerator. The microwave still had moisture from its previous use and smelled of reheated food. The room’s location at the top of the stairs made it difficult to sleep. The constant noise of other guests coming and going with their luggage was disruptive throughout the night. Additionally, the lack of a lobby or a proper check-in process created a feeling of abandonment and a lack of security. Communication was also an issue.
