Located on the border of Opera and Centro, is a great luggage. Despite being in the midst of the busy Calle Arenal, the hotel itself was very quiet. Buffet included was diverse enough for fussy eaters to find something. Would reccomend.

Cómo siempre un placer volver a recalar en el Hotel Francisco I. Una ubicación privilegiada en la ciudad, sobre una calle peatonal con mucho encanto y en un edificio precioso reciclado con gusto. Todos los servicios necesarios, una sensación de hotel boutique por la atención al detalle, un desayuno delicioso y que, además va cambiando un poco cada día (muy poco frecuente hoy en Europa aún en hoteles 5 estrellas) y con un staff de personal, del primero al último, comprometido con hacerte sentir como "en casa". Fue nuestra tercer estadía en un recorrido de casi tres meses y volveremos antes de partir . Sin duda ya planeando el retorno para la primavera del 2025. Brindaremos (con Cava bien española) por más retornos. Keep the good work and thanks a lot! See u in a few days.

Good but lacking in expected amenities
This hotel had a really good location near the Plaza Mayor but this location was extremely busy and crowded. Mostly, this was enjoyable but sometimes was a bit overwhelming. The downstairs bar, breakfast room and hallways were beautifully decorated. Our complaint would be with the lack of room amenities.The shower stall was a very small corner unit. We received only a small packet of tissues each rather than a box of tissues. The bathroom sink was attractive but too shallow if you wanted to wash out clothing items.The TV was antenna and not cable so there were no American/English channels. There are no USB ports, no face towels, only one wastebasket, bathroom divider was translucent so if you turned a light on in the bathroom the bedroom would be lighted, and bathroom noises were easily heard in the bedroom. It should be noted that the hotel was very clean, had good lighting in the room, and the staff was helpful.

Located in a very lively area, we expected some noise at night, but that exceeded our expectations, it's Madrid after all. The hotel was remodeled nor far ago, everything looks update and clean. Rooms are on the small size, but for a couple with very little luggage, there are perfect. Pros: breakfast! Amazing! even better than some 5 star hotels, and the breakfast area is beautiful, perfect setting and illumination, nice music on the background. Cons: the architect that designed the bathrooms didn't thought of security, the shower ended in a pointed corner sticking out, and the huge sink with less than two inches deep, had corners pointed corners too. Overall, a very nice hotel that definitely we will go back.
