Slightly below average.
I will preface this by saying that Im reasonably certain I had the smallest room in the hotel, given I booked last minute and hotels.com stated it was the last available room (rm 22 i think?). I will also say the location was amazing, and the staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. The room however was not great for ‘4 stars’. The furniture was too large for the room and made it feel cluttered and claustrophobic. There were also not really any usable windows for sun light or fresh air, as the room faced out to an alley that was central to 3-4 restaurant kitchens. Italian restaurant kitchens are LOUD, and we heard everything up until they closed around midnight / 1am. Also no chairs to sit on making the bed the only place to sit down was weird. The bathroom shower is one of those ones with no door, so you feel the breeze and also there was no way to not get water everywhere all over the bathroom. We weren’t in the room all that much, so it didnt overly affect us, but something to keep in mind when booking (make sure you dont book a room without city view as youll be placed in a room on the rear facing the alley)

Quirky property, listed as a hotel, however it is not what we expected at all, it’s an old building accessed via a long corridor between two restaurants. The room we had was large and had usual hotel amenities provided. The rooms are accessed by using a tiny elevator that can hold one person plus one suitcase, or two slim people at a time. Alternatively you can use the steep stone steps to access the rooms. You then deal with the hotel staff via WhatsApp. The location was great for us and we walked to many attractions with ease.

Great location. The hotel was clean with the exception of the floor. Maybe that is why sleepers are given….The floor was pretty dirty. My baby’s feet were dark after walking on the floor for a little. The disappointment was that our hotel wasn’t ready even after arriving an hour late that check in time. Being exhausted from the long train ride with kids, would have been nice to relax a bit before heading out to walk again.

Mama's home surpassed all of our expectations by far! The rooms were amazingly clean and roomy! We were provided snacks, drinks and prosecco. Everyday clean towels, rooms cleaned and to top it off amazing AC! Anyone that asks where they should stay in Rome will be getting Mamas Hotel from us for sure!

Would rate this hotel higher but the elevator is smaller than an airplane bathroom and it is a bit of a maze. The bathrooms are clean and new but lack privacy. Location is great, the AC is fantastic as is the staff and the rooms are clean and modern

The property is in a great location. However it is above a bar and facing a very busy square. On a Saturday night the noise and partying can be quite intense. The manager stated she was very surprised by the noise levels. After extensive complaining she finally moved us to a quieter room at 11 pm. Because the hotel is very small, if you have a problem they may be unable to help you.
