Had a lovely time in Silloth. The Golf Hotel is an old building but the room was lovely, lots of room and the bathroom had a shower and separate large bath. Staff were fantastic and breakfast was excellent, will definitely stay again. You can park on the road outside without too much trouble.

Left waiting by staff as only 1 staff was doing the bar , reception and waitresing. Very uncomfortable and lumpy beds , on waking could not shower , wash or flush the toilet as no running water Cannot comment on breakfast as we left after telling receptionist of our issues

I wouldn't stay here again. Myself and a colleague stayed here, on arrival we checked in and when asked what time we wanted breakfast we both politely declined as neither of us eat breakfast we were greeted with a look of disgust. Then we both had issues with water, neither of us had any hot water at all, my colleague went and questioned this and was told they would check the pressure. There was no hot water at all for showers at night and still in the morning. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the noise of passing wagons through the night was a pain. Find somewhere else.

A very clean room and a great bed. Our room was at the top of the hotel and I suppose that was our fault for not asking for a room on the first floor as we both have mobility issues. The breakfast was first class and plentiful and the breakfast staff were very polite and friendly. Hoping to be back next year but will ask for a room on the first floor

When booking a room with a private bathroom you expect to have hot water. Knowing the boiler had broken down weeks before we were not advised! The room stank of stale cigarette smoke, the window didn’t close properly and the carpet was threadbare. The room was clean and linen was clean. On complaining we were moved to a room with an electric shower, but still no hot water in the wash hand basin. The staff did their best but hands were tied not a manager to be seen. As we were the only guests staying I can understand why!!! If we hadn’t pre paid and the weather had not been so dreadful we would have left immediately.

Having read reviews before we stayed we were a little bit concerned. However my room was absolutely fine, and the breakfast was great. The young girl on duty at front of house was very helpful and obviously knew how to do her job, she seemed to be everywhere. Yes, the general public areas of the hotel could do with a brighten up and a lick of paint, but overall it is a positive from me. Having read the reviews, I feel the negative ones are unfair. If you pay for a relatively cheap hotel, don't expect to be put up in the Ritz. We will be back, thank you to the Golf Hotel.

Not very welcoming receptionist, lots of stairs, no lift, had to carry our cases up three flights, no help offered both in our 80’s. Said on line free parking this is only street parking if you can find a space. Hotel is shabby needs updating. Wouldn’t go back.
