From the outset, the lady I dealt with was less than accommodating. I messaged in advance explaining we were travelling from Carriacou to Grenada to meet friends arriving on a cruise ship and that we would be arriving early. I asked if there was luggage storage available. I was told no, but that an early check-in could be arranged. When I asked what time the earliest check-in would be, I was told 3pm, which is the standard check-in time anyway, so this was not an early check-in at all.
I then explained we would carry our luggage with us and planned to check in between 5–6pm once our friends boarded their cruise. We arrived just after 5pm and could not find anyone on site. The phone number advertised did not work, so I contacted Expedia, and their representative eventually managed to reach her.
When shown to Suite 4, there was no TV in the room. One was brought later, but I was told she “didn’t expect us so early,” which made no sense as standard check-in is 3pm and checkout is 11am. The room should have been ready.
The condition of the room was unacceptable. There was visible black mould that had clearly been painted over, but the smell of damp was overwhelming. The bedsheets felt damp from the moisture in the room. There is only one window, which contains the air conditioning unit, so there is no fresh air circulation at all.
We barely slept. When it rained, water poured down the outside wall like a waterfall. At 1:45am, the sound of water dripping onto discarded metal
