This was the perfect stay! The room was very clean, comfortable, and modern. We loved that we could use the hook ups to charge our phones, We also found the filtered and sparkling water from the tap very refreshing. We booked at cruise and the buses to the port were just down the street within walking distance. We would definitely recommend this spot and we may be booking again in the future.

Place was very clean. Location was excellent. Right downtown and about 5-10 minutes walking distance to free cruise shuttle. Staff helped with check in. Only issue is there's no elevator and you have to lug your luggage up to the 3rd floor.

Only issue was the stairs. I was told my room was on the second floor but apparently, that didn’t include the ground floor when counting floors so it was really the third floor and had to carry luggage up two flights of stairs. Not fun after traveling for 24 hrs. I will say the self check in directions were very easy to follow.

Check in was a bit of a challenge, especially taking all the photos of us and our passports. Plus my credit card payment for the city tax needed several attempts before it was finally processed. It was a challenge navigating the stairs to the guest house with our suitcases because the stairs were made of stone and somewhat slippery. The bedroom was very large, which was nice. But we were supposed to have a harborview and all we had was buildings and the street. The bathroom was also large but the shower was in need of a good scrubbing because of mold in the tile grout. We booked this accommodation at the last minute because our other hotel in the port was damaged in a fire. It was overpriced for what we got. I don’t think I would book this type of property again.

This place should be more clear that it is a rental by an owner. This is not the place to go if you will be arriving after dark. If you have never been here before, it was very scary. When we arrived it was a random door with a couple of call buttons on it. We pushed the button for this place and the door opened to complete darkness. We had no idea where we were going, because I was not able to get information from the owner. We were able to get help from a store owner that was next to the door, that was able to call the owner of the place. We were finally able to find out where and what we needed to do. My husband had to turn his flashlight on his phone so we could see where we were going. We had to haul our luggage up 3 flights of stairs in the dark. Once we were able to finally get into our room, it was nice, but I would never stay here again. It was a very scary experience for our first time in Rome.

Let me start with the fast check in was terrible. Asked about transportation from the airport to hotel, never heard back was told via email Marco would contact me, never did. Took a taxi to the hotel and even the taxi driver could not find this hotel. He dumped us in an ally and said it’s here. Doing this whole process via virtual and no front desk is unacceptable. After 3 flight of stairs no elevator we get to our room. It was acceptable however dirty floors and shower had mold on the tile. Did finally get out to visit the town the people were very friendly and helpful. Pizza was awesome and the cappuccino shop was well awesome. And special kudos to the market next to this hotel he was so nice and even helped us with our luggage. He went out of his way and walked us to the shuttle for our cruise. The Market was Maharmahi Mini Market spoke perfect English and was a life saver. Thank you Thank you. Never again will I stay at a virtual hotel !!!

This was an unusual property/experience. The main door is located on a busy street in a sketchy area. The apartment is on the 3rd floor (2nd floor for Europeans). As there is no on-site staff, pre-check-in is handled through email, including passport submittal, etc. We arrived on Saturday morning in time to return a rental car before they closed at noon. Since check-in was not available until 3pm, this left us with nowhere to be and a bunch of luggage. Communication through the booking app was ineffective, but once I used the property’s direct email, they were very helpful and responsive. Fortunately, we were allowed to leave our luggage, even though our rooms weren’t ready yet. There was a secure main door to an apartment common area, and additional secured doors to the individual rooms. Everything was very clean and seemed well-maintained. The room was very quiet and the bed was quite comfortable. We had very good experience with A Casa Mia, a restaurant right next door. Our efforts at wandering around the area for other dining/shopping options were futile and frustrating. The apartment was very close to the access point for cruise ships, which is why we were in Civitavecchia in the first place. We would recommend the property as a no-frills, super convenient pre-cruise stopover.

From the moment we arrive to the time we left Ugo and Josefina were extremely kind and helpful. There is no elevator so they carried our luggage up and down stairs for us even though we tried to take it ourselves. They had a very nice breakfast that was hand cooked and served by Ugo. It’s an easy walk to restaurants, shopping and the cruise port although Ugo did drive us the two blocks to the cruise port. I recommend the airport pick up because the B&B might be very difficult to find on your own. We are staying here again for two nights after our cruise and we are looking forward to it.

Fuori Dal Poroto

The bedroom itself was pretty clean. There was a pile of dirt at the foot of the bed that has not been picked up. The bed was comfortable, however, there was a large amount of black mold in the shower, and only in the shower. That did not make us feel great, but it was a quick shower in the morning. The location was perfect for a one-night stay. Within walking distance to many restaurants. When we booked the room, we were told breakfast was included. Then we received an email that breakfast would not be included but they would give us a credit slip at a local shop for breakfast. When we arrived, they said no breakfast and no discount in our rate. We received check-in instructions via email and no person was available at check-in. The manager did knock on our door around 10:30 pm to make sure we were checked in. It was also a short walk to the area where you catch the bus to the cruise ships. In spite of the shower situation, it was perfect, and we would stay there again if leaving from that port.
