The good: good location, pleasant staff.
The bad: 1. Immediately upon entering the hotel, my wife & I were struck by the attire of the staff at the front desk. It was very unprofessional seeing the reception staff wearing T-shirts, jeans & pajama bottoms.
2. When told that the fitness room was closed for renovation (I ALWAYS check that any hotel that I stay in has a fitness room, as generally my wife & I exercise daily), I inquired if we could use the fitness center at the nearby Marriott. It is hard to imagine that the communication between the 2 hotels is so poor, that the GM could not even get an answer.
3. I was offered compensation of $50 per day, but that was then rescinded when the GM found that I had booked through Expedia. I have not received any compensation to date.
4. The minor things: The clock in the room was nonfunctional. Despite a visit by maintenance, it was never replaced. The peeling paint in the shower. The lack of a safe for passport or electronics in the room.
Much could & should be done to restore my faith in the Marriott family of hotels.
