Great location but the rooms are a let down.
It might be good to know that the Dorsett Residence is the neighboring building next to the main Dorsett hotel Building where you check in. The first room we got was not good. The main problem with the room was the smell which made it impossible for us to be able to stay in the room without feeling sick. The condition was otherwise quite bad. All the furniture had ugly stains which did not give a pleasant impression and all our bedding smelled of sweat. I'm not one to complain, but for us the room was not acceptable. When we pointed out our complaints, we were helped to a new room. The new room was much better in every way, although not perfect.
The new room had a better layout that worked better for us. Unfortunately, here too all the furniture was full of stains, but otherwise the condition was better than in the previous room. The beds were good and didn't smell of sweat this time. One of the bathrooms had glass walls and you can see clear traces of moisture damage where the glass walls meet the wood floor. During our 5 nights that we stayed here, we encountered 4 cockroaches. One in each bathroom and one in each bedroom. I was surprised that the building was completed 2018 and that the rooms are already so worn after a few years. The infinity pool is fantastic and the area around the pool is well maintained. The best thing about this hotel is that it is very centrally located in Bukit Bintang. My stay here wasn't horrible but it's not worth a return visit for me.
