Before our arrival we had made reservations and paid for two rooms (same reservation no.). At our arrival, they could only find one reservation. After some 15 minutes waiting they said our reservation had been found and we got a room. Things like that can happen, and they solved it, which is fine. However, when we got to the room it was on the ground level and damaged by damp with a strong distinct smell, even with the windows open (on arrival). We asked for a room change to a higher floor which was no problem, and that room was OK. But you'd think no hotel should want to put their guests in a room like the first on in the first place. If you stay there, ask for a room on one of the upper floors.
The hotel is a business hotel. It was nice enough, and the staff helpful and friendly.
A small minus on the service was that the concierge wanted to sell us an expensive package when we asked about a visit to the apartheid museum. The package (taxi + tickets) was approx. x2 in price than paying for a taxi (booked by the hotel) and tickets to the museum separately, which we ended up doing.
The hotel is OK for 1-2 nights. It's got two swimming pools and a nice garden court. However, if we go to J-burg again, we would choose a different hotel.
