Warning! This is a poorly managed hotel. We stayed at Villa Rosa for 5 days in February 2011. As we were three people, we were given a cottage (a kind of mini-apartment, with two bedrooms and a kitchen). When we arrived we noticed that that the cottage had not been properly cleaned and that parts of the furniture were not in good shape. That, however, turned out to be minor problems. The first day we found that the sink in the kitchen did not function –it was partly filled with dirty water. Hence a man came to fix it. The following night we noticed that one of the main windows (which had been open when we came) could not be closed because some essential parts were missing. It was not a nice experience; it was a cold night and our daughter who was supposed to sleep in the room felt insecure. Next day another man came to fix the window. Great – now the hassles would be over! But unfortunately we had been over-optimistic. The following day, there was no water in the shower. A third man came to fix it. It functioned for a couple of hours, and then again we had no water. At this stage we could not take any longer and asked for another room –which we were got. We were also offered monetary compensation, which however was far too low in our judgment. After all, our holiday had been spoilt to an essential degree. We have travelled around the world, and we are not the complaining kind of people. But something like this we have never experienced. It should be added that the hotel has a charming atmosphere, the girls in the lobby were generally very nice and compassionate (when they heard about our problem). What is missing, we conclude, is a functioning manager, who can see to that conditions are in order before people move in.
