If there is an opportunity to offer 1/2 stars, I would give this property another 1/2 star (4.5 total). The tiny anomalies about accommodations are sometimes the ones that leave the most lasting impression. In this case, it was the shower. Yes, the shower itself worked. But since the shower faucet handle was not screwed to the shower (it came away readily), it also meant having to adjust the temperature with each use. That should have been fixed before the room was rentable. Neither the room cleaner nor the facilities person bothered to see that the faucet was loose. This also suggested that no one wiped off the shower handle in some time - it would have detached easily. I would be surprised if it still is loose as I write this. As mentioned, I was still able to shower - by continually pushing the handle back into its position (it fell off just by gravity twice!). My second qualm is that I requested a refresh of my towels midway during my stay. In other hotels, this means that the room cleaner also freshens up the bed, along with taking out trash, etc. This did not happen - as if the hotel only meant to deliver the minimum asked, period. This was not an encouraging sign when stellar service is one of their brand standards. If they only put more effort to notice these small inconsistencies, I am sure 100% of their guests would give them 5 stars. One final suggestion: I would encourage the management to find someone to lease the vacant restaurant space at the corner.
