I had to change rooms past 2 AM for a neighbor who played TV at full volume and did not respond to calls or knocks from hotel staff or me. The hotel staff only offered a new room once I asked to speak to a manager. I was exhausted and I asked for the option to keep the key to the original room until morning to be sure nothing was left behind. Clearly the room was not going to be used until morning. No, I was told. I. pajamas my daughter, wife packed up and moved. I was then watched over as I did the sweep of the room half asleep and asked to return the key immediately. I asked if I could consult with my wife and daughter, now in bed in the new room, and return the key to the desk. No, I was told. The manager would wait outside and take the keycard when I emerged from the room. Overall, I felt I was treated as if I did something wrong and given no courtesy while another guest was allowed to blast their TV non-stop without consequences. I was given a $75 credit but I would have preferred to have been offered a room change immediately, greater courtesy and flexibility regarding holding the key until morning.
