We picked the Arbel Hotel suites based on location in Tel Aviv- we prefer silent areas- and reviews here at Hotels.com. However the reviews are exaggerated here at hotels.com. Here is why
Location. 4/5. Near Diezengoff street, lots of cafés and restaurant, 10 minutes walk from the beach, port area etc. Good public transport nearby.Placed in a quiet residential area, you will not be disturbed here.
The room. 2,5/5. A spartanly decorated, very dark dark, somewhat worn room with small windows, Kitchenette w/micro and one cooktop so you can cook breakfast or a simple meal. 2 wardrobes. 2 tv sets, ok bathroom and AC. Spacious with separate bedroom. Ok bathroom. Firm beds. We slept well.
The lobby/hotel.3/5 Narrow stairs and hallways. Small lift. Nice lobby/café area, a few parking spots. Unstable wifi. It is a refurbed residential building.
Breakfast/amenities. Breakfast selection is ok but limited, so after a few days it gets repetitive. Decent bikes and beach towels for free. Nice free coffee/tea/water. 3/5 thanks to coffee/bikes.
Overall, a quiet hotel with ok amenities. Spartan bunker-like dark rooms unless you get a smaller one the facing front. Stay here if the price is right, you will sleep well, but skip breakfast and eat out/cook yourselves.
We rate this hotel 3- out of 5
