The property itself is beautiful and has old Milwaukee grandeur and charm to it. However, the facility is extremely understaffed and it shows. Most of the staff that were there were hardworking, efficient and very kind, especially the managers and kitchen and wait staff but they just couldn't keep up with the demand of all that needed to be done. The valet was inconsistent and sometimes not there at all. Housekeeping could use major upgrades considering our bed had multiple stains; pen ink and what appeared to be blood, upon arrival and when we had housekeeping swap it out, the replacements also were soiled (noticed by the housekeeper who switched it out again). The bathroom had handprint make-up stains over the door and a hair dryer covered in stickiness. The breakfast buffet and bar was satisfactory, however, ordering from the menu during breakfast came with some meat still frozen. Overall, almost every aspect needed attention, but with more staff I believe it could be easily improved. I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here because it has an affordable price and great location walking distance to the 3rd Ward including the Public Market, but I wouldn't speak too highly of it.
