nice ryokan in an otherwise nagoya desert
So this is likely the best ryokan in the Nagoya area.
few complaints though, even though we called twice (day before and when leaving nagoya same day) to confirm the pickup, they FORGOT US! that's just plain bad, although at least they admitted over the phone they simply forgot and came swiftly after that. however first impression was not so great. there is one convenience store if you go right when exiting the hotel, although its about 15 minutes walk away. the bath albeit not an onsen, (no certificate) and nagoya is famous for not having any "real" onsen. with that said the baths were great. they have 2 private ones you can just slip into without booking, 1 female only, 1 private with booking and 1 mix gender (roof) all are seemingly open all night until 10am. the location makes it so that you can see a great sunset from your room or some of the baths.
if you've booked food, theres plenty of it, i read some complained about the amount of food. well if you're not a fan of japanese seafood teshoku then you will not enjoy the food they have. there are no restaurants nearby in off-season.
little bit expensive, but huge rooms and nice bath makes this place a worthy visit in nagoya.
