You get what you pay for...
... but this is not the case. For the xxx euro/night I payed I expected more comfort. There are far better hotels for this kind of money in the region.
The main complain is bad sound insulation. If you get a room towards the garden where the restaurant is you will hear all the guest talking until late night. You will hear them in the morning too of cause. Unless you sleep too deep because you are tired of not being able to sleep the whole night. :-)
If your room faces the other side (like my colleague's) you will hear pigeons. :-)
There are some other smaller things: hard bed, yellowish sheets with women's hair, unusable bathroom amenities (bring your own!), toilet where you have to push the flush button for 5 minutes hoping that everything goes down (and often it does not) etc.
If the hotel costed half of its price all the above would be completely normal. But for the money I paid I expect more.
On the bright side is friendly staff, cosy inside garden with restaurant and location (if you want to stay in the very center of Thamel).
P.S. When I published the review I was contacted by the hotel manager who regretted the inconvenience and offered to refund the money. I declined but it is worth to point out that it is possible to get money back in case you are not happy about your stay.
