Wish I could leave a review of the Villa separate from Ocean Village as a whole. The villa we stayed in was clean & had everything we needed. The owner was gracious enough to stop by, introduce himself and ask if we needed anything. I would give his Villa 5 stars.
But the property as a whole, Ocean Village, was awful. We were there for a wedding. The guards gave us a hard time every time we left the property and wanted to return. Why they don't have parking passes or something like it, so the guards know you belong there, is crazy! We were not allowed (yes, you read that right, not allowed, to visit our friends in the next complex. We were told "This is not a hotel. We can't have anyone coming and going". It did not matter, we were all friends & family, staying there for the same reason.
Then, the wedding was almost a disaster! The staff is unprepared and untrained. The wedding started 4 hours late. Yes, FOUR HOURS LATE! So many things to complain about: they lied to us about the tip being included on our bill at the restaurant, they did not tell the bride & groom the refrigerator was broken at the location where the open bar was supposed to be, the DJ was late (even though the wedding was supposed to start 4 hours before), guests had to move furniture & clean where the ceremony was supposed to be, etc. I could go on, but why?! DON'T STAY HERE!
