Mixed feelings
My recent stay at The Westbury in Dublin left me and my wife with mixed feelings. The hotel's central location is excellent for exploring the city, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too soft, offering no support. No chromecast either.
However, the hotel’s decor and furnishings are noticeably worn and dated. The brass details were smudged with fingerprints and lacked regular polishing. The fitness center is tiny and subpar compared to other luxury hotels. Breakfast was particularly disappointing, with a minimal continental selection (even campares to scandinavian foul stars like Elite) and a deconstructed, unappealing full Irish breakfast. The eggs benedict was served on dry rolls that seemed heated from frozen.
The water pressure in the shower was poor, a basic amenity that should meet a higher standard. The toiletries were a mixed bag, with peppermint shampoo and marzipan-scented body wash not to our liking. A particularly unpleasant incident occurred when my wife returned to our room mod breakfast to find the cleaners had laid dirty cloths on the made bed whilst cleaning, a clear lapse in housekeeping standards.
In summary, while The Westbury's location and friendly staff are strong points, the dated interiors, underwhelming breakfast, housekeeping issues, unclean brass details, and overly soft pillows significantly detract from its appeal. For the price and star rating, I expected much better im afraid
