I arrived to no hot water; desk person explained the building turned off the water briefly—no problem. He directed me to expedite its return by turning on both the tub and sink taps. I did this and took a call, returning 5-6 min later to find the bathroom floor covered in a 1/2 inch of water. The swallow sink overflows *very* quickly. I cleaned up immediately and called the front desk and housekeeping several times, neither answering, to replace towels.
At one point, I forgot my room key. The evening desk person took a L-O-N-G time processing one check-in. Then, one of the valets jumped in front of me to ask about a guest who left a $20 cash tip. He wasn't clear if it was intentional. His honestly was admirable, but the two went back and forth for a solid 7-8 minutes with me and two other guests waiting on help.
Housekeeping knocks about 9:45-10AM to get into the rooms, unless you put out the sign. After my first night, I was going to have meetings much of afternoon from my room, I told them I could only give a short window before this started. They turned service very quickly and was well done, when I returned like 20 minutes later. Bravo.
The room condition was generally clean but shabby. Linens are basic quality; one sheet had makeup stains on the end.
They use disposable trays in the coffeemaker to hold the filters (not an "espresso maker" as billed in room grade). The tray was removed after my first night, so I couldn't brew the second morning.
