I have mixed feelings about this stay.
The hotel itself is amazing. Beautiful interior and modern, luxurious feeling. We had a nice welcoming at check-in.
The little town Campione d’Italia it is very still and mellow. There is even a sign when driving through saying ”SOS CAMPIONE IS DEAD”. So if you’re planning on staying in this town to explore it, then don’t. But if you have the hotel as a starting point/basis to drive out from and to visit other towns it’s perfect. It’s Close to Lugano and the Como Lake. I was very curious about this hotel because the interior spoke to me and that’s why we booked it. So the area around it didn’t bother me more than it was just sad to see the town so lifeless.
So the rooms where very nice, we had booked an Elite room (35 squ. m.) and was hoping for the one with windows from top to bottom on the 5th floor, which is the one they promote in the pictures when You book. We did not receive it, which was a dissapointment, but the manager was willing to upgrade us. So thank You for that.
At the breakfast there was a bit of a fuss with the coffees being served and most guests where angry to have waited so long to get their coffee, including myself. I spoke to the manager about it and he was very upset for this incident.
Other than that, it was overall a nice stay and would recommend people to stay at this hotel when looking for accomodation in this area of Italy/Switzerland.
