The Bedford Regency is a nice little hotel in a prime location. The property was clean and modern, and the staff were all very nice and always helpful. Many of the best sites, attractions, restaurant’s, and the harbour are all within walking distance.
The only real negatives that will be obvious when visiting are:
The parking situation not typical as it is a few blocks away and it requires a fob to enter that needs to be returned to the hotel right away. That being said it’s a quick walk and the vehicle is safe and secure. Downtown Victoria is best seen on foot so the parking was barely a blip.
The hot water takes a noticeable amount of time to reach hot. It gets there though, and so the annoyance is more about the seemingly vast amount of water being wasted before it’s usable for a shower.
There was a bar below our room and the noise from it was noticeable only when trying to sleep. We turned the fan on and played some white noise from a phone that distracted from it and slept quite well. Don’t know if the issue is only on the side of the hotel we were on, but this is a problem the hotel could solve with triple paned glass.
These were all minor annoyances at best that can be solved with patience and didn’t make us regret staying here as the overall experience was pleasant. I would stay at the Bedford Regency again but maybe request a room facing away from the bar, or maybe higher up. The rest of the issues were barely on the radar being trumped by the fantastic location.
