The property is in a great location. We arrived early and went to the bar for a beverage. It was lovely, although even though it was not busy not one of the 5 staff even acknowledged us for 20 mins. When we went to our room, the fireplace was not working and we had to ask multiple times for someone to come fix it….even with those experiences I was still happy with the room and our view. We ran into another problem in the morning when we discovered that the shower did not work at all….we called down and were told to pull the handle more….despite trying for quite awhile we never could take a shower. At checkout, we explained again the trouble we had and even showed the staff a video, she stated she would tell management and they would call us to take care of it. We never got a call, but our credit card was charged the full amount. I did reach out to hotels.com and they spoke to the hotel, which gave us a $72 refund….It seemed an odd amount and ultimately, my poor rating of the stay is due to more the lack of care from the staff than the actual issues we had. I will add that one staff member, Jason was very kind and helpful to us when we checked in.
