During a recent eight-night stay in Marrakech, I had the opportunity to experience a renowned 5-star hotel in the city. While certain aspects of the stay were commendable, some significant issues marred the overall experience. This review provides an honest, detailed account of my time at the hotel, highlighting both the positives and negatives encountered.
Check-In Experience:
Upon arrival, the check-in process was chaotic and unpleasant, leaving me feeling unwelcome. The receptionists, particularly the girl with long hair and the bald man, appeared indifferent to my presence, failing to establish eye contact or engage in any meaningful conversation. Instructions on where to go and what to do were inconsistent and confusing; I was initially directed to the counter, then told to wait, only to be sent back to the counter after a 45-minute delay.
Moreover, it seemed that native Moroccans were given preferential treatment. The receptionist attending to me abruptly halted my check-in process to attend to a Moroccan family, leaving me to wait again. This disappointing experience left me feeling devalued and disrespected. However, it is important to note that not all staff members exhibited this attitude - a tall man with black hair was notably courteous and respectful.
