Overall our stay was okay. There were a couple things that were an bummer that were our own fault for not reviewing property details, and calling to confirm. READ THE FINE PRINT & THE EMAIL THEY SEND YOU LOL.
First off, the area is a bit sketchy. Not far from the harbour, walkable, but as a female I would not walk anywhere alone in the evening. Lots of unhoused in the vicinity, some openly using drugs on the sidewalk.
Secondly, parking is across the road under another building. Secure, but again I wouldn’t want to be arriving late & having to walk alone to get access. It’s also $25 a night so plan for added charges.
Third, we booked for pet friendly but when we arrived they weren’t aware. We had to swap rooms. $50 fee per pet, they waived one charge for us as we had no idea about it when we booked. It was NOT in the listing when we booked.
Fourth, it was very noisy. We were there on a Friday night and in a corner unit. They supply ear plugs, but it was super loud with party goers and loud music. Pretty sure we were over the bar, so extra loud.
Also, we had a VIP package. We thought it was for a drink in the bar/lounge but was in fact two cans of San Pellegrino and two packs of shortbread cookies. Still a freebie but not what we expected from the description.
The hotel itself is lovely, older, well restored character building that caters to a higher end clientele (which we aren’t lol). It was fine for one night but we won’t book here again.
