We booked the Ionian Blue Garden suite with a shared pool (7 nights) and sea view. The location of the room was great, you just open the glass door and hop into the salty water. Unfortunately, the bathroom was old and did not feel fresh. The rest of the hotel as well felt old and in need of a serious face lift. The common pool was too crowded and felt impossible to swim in. We had the chance to book the suite with a private shared pool.
A couple of staff members at the reception were not helpful and did not hold 5 star level service standards. A gap in service standards could be felt throughout the staff. In the restaurants and bars of the hotel, staff could be very professional and welcoming while others could be irritated and on the edge of being rude. (Ex: while asking a waitress for coffee, the answer we recieved was: "I am busy right now!".
A customer care training is definitely needed throughout all sections as the service gap within personnel is close to palpable.
Wifi connection was a disaster, disconnecting on and off continuously sometimes being off whole days.
The hotel does not hold 5 star standards in terms of personnel, customer care, condition and freshness.
Otherwise, location was great and I "could" book again, however only the suite with private pool as the common pool was unbearable.
