Edmonton can be kind of expensive for accommodation, so we chose a hotel a few kilometres north of the city centre.
It is located in a fairly anonymous area, along a long road with small shopping centres, gas stations, administrative buildings, fast food shops, and the like. Make sure you have a car to get to the city centre.
Room was fairly worn, though well-cleaned. The weather was about 25C and the air conditioner struggled to keep us cool - but it just about did its job.
Breakfast (included) was unspectacular in a way that only North American hotels can lay claim to, but if you like scrambled eggs, processed sausage, bread and jam, peanut butter, honey etc, then you will be fine. Staff were courteous.
All that said, I'd say we found the hotel to be a very good performer, given that we wanted to keep to a budget.
