We stayed at the Lavender Farm Guest House for two nights in January 2014. It is a really tranquil location in the fantastic Franschhoek valley. Large fully air conditioned rooms which were made every day to our satisfaction. Nice spacey shower. The beds are a bit shorter than ordinary, but even at 1.90 it didn't cause me any problems. I read you can request longer beds when reserving. The gardens are lovely and it literally smells lavender everywhere. There is a nice little pool area where we enjoyed soaking up a few hours of sun after enjoying fantastic lunches and various wine tastings. Pool could need some more cleaning. There is a nice outside patio where you can enjoy breakfast on nice days. We didn't find the inside breakfast area cozy at all, so stay outdoors if you can. Also, the breakfast was not up to par. Granted, it's a small place and not very pricey, but only one selection of muesli (although very tasty!) and fruit, one type of toast with three factory produced jars of jam and a selection of three hot dishes is not really enough in our opinion. Produce your own jam, provide freshly pressed juice and bake your own bread and you're home free. But still, this is the only thing we have to pick on at this otherwise great and friendly place. We'll definitely come back on our next visit.
