Upon check-in, my family was asked for receipts and paperwork like they were trying to sneak into a low-budget hotel for free. Great Allisons’ Inn welcome.
But wait. There’s more.
I tried talking to both of the desk agents and they completely ignored me and refused to even acknowledge my questions. Maybe they are mutes.
Once in the room, there was only 1 bed. The listing stated 2 beds. The linen smelled and looked used and unchanged. This is a recurring trend at this hotel. Check the other reviews.
We were also told that pets would be charged 500p each when the listing says pets stay free.
Update #1: Moved to another room after complaining about the beds and linen.
Update #2: Still charging for pets. It’s called “bait and switch” and Allisons’ Inn has perfected the art.
Update #3: So Hotels.com called on our behalf and were also told 500p per pet, regardless of the listing.
I would rather sleep on a flattened cardboard box in front of 7-11 than either stay here or allow any family to stay here ever again.
Update #4: So upon checkout, the management wouldn’t even entertain the idea of a discounted pet fee. We asked for a split rate. Nope. No. Never.
My final assessment is to avoid this place. Its super cheap, but does that mean you have to put up with this? Does it mean “no customer service?” Does it mean you have to deal with poor “management?” For me, it’s clear the answer is a resounding NO, but you make your own decision.
