1. the staff were very well-trained, friendly, and attentive. There were four expat staff, and the Chinese supervisory staff spoke very good English. Wait staff and others could speak at least some English. They quickly recognized me, remembered my name and my beverage of choice, which always has a nice, welcoming feel to it.
2. the location is about three (long) blocks to the High-Tech station on the Chengdu Metro, near the “Nine Square” mall which has a Starbucks, Haagen-Dazs, food court. There is a branch of the Bank of China about three blocks away. It is about 30 minutes from the Shuangliu airport.
3. Coffee shop/general restaurant on 4th floor. Ate most of my meals there. Typically would have a buffet with about half western and half Asian cuisine. The Japanese restaurant was open during the week, and had sushi, teppan, and all-you-can eat options. The Chinese/Sichuan restaurant was very good, and for special occasions they have seating at boat pavilions, which are quite charming. The lobby bar was convenient place to relax. There is a large swimming pool (with designated lap lane) with dressing rooms, exercise equipment, free weights, and an attentive staff. The concierge was extremely helpful in getting airline tickets and mailing a package.
