High recommendation
While I was asking my way to the hotel loads of people were harassing me with watches, suites, hashish etc. After 20 minutes I managed to find the Chung King mansions. It took me an extra 20 minutes to find the right elevator to Manila Hotel and my appearance as a completely lost westerner with a suitcase didn't exactly help to keep the sellers away but now they wanted to offer me cheap guestrooms instead. The mansionplace is a tight maze with suspicious alleys all over but dont get nervous. I didn't see any real trouble anywhere. This is actually an incredibly peaceful but busy part of town, and so is most of Hong Kong. When I finally arrived at Manila Hotel I was greeted by very nice people. They helped me carry my baggage and showed me the room and all the other details. No problems... The room worked perfectly but dont expect more than whats reasonable in relation to the cheap price! They gave me roomservice every day though. The WIFI worked smoothly. When my aircondition broke down they immediately gave me a new, bigger room. I had everything I could ask for as a budget traveler. I got used to the extreme amount of sellers outside and they seemed to get used to me too and bothered me a bit less for each day.
The location couldn't be better. Right next to the metro and the supermarket in ISQUARE shoppingcenter. 300 meters south is the beautiful harbour and "Tsim Sha Tsui promenade" where you'll want to take a stroll in the evening.
