All in all, it was a good choice quality and pricewise. Located in an old venerable residence in the lovely countryside, the hotel looked well-kept, while retaining the old-fashioned style and the distinctive atmosphere, with an inevitable smell of mould. The whole building was stylistically consistent, with rustic creaky floors and ornate sturdy furniture. The room was very spacious and clean, with decent retro style furnishings and two windows overlooking the green hills but it had no air condition. It was however never hot in the room, and it was lovely to be there with the window open. The bathroom was peculiar, with a retro wash basin in the entry. There was no bathtub, and the shower corner sometimes went clogged up, although it was not a big issue. There was complimentary tea/coffee in the room. The free wi-fi functioned well.
The staff was all in all very friendly and helpful. They spoke English well and appeared professional and service-minded at all times, giving attention to all requests, providing local tips and personal explanations. They made sure their guests felt at home. It was however difficult to reach them by phone when they were not present (calls were not answered). The breakfast was served using lavish crockery at a long table in a big dining room. Although the breakfast variety was not very wide, still everything was tasty, especially the freshly pressed juices. They also served egg dishes and pancakes by order.
