The smell is horrible. No where in their information about the hotel or location does it indicate that it is right next to a working farm with horses and cows… and the smell that comes with it. Stepping out of the car was a pain, and the smell also lingered in our room (probably due to a broken window that could not be closed all the way and because they air out the rooms when they are cleaned). The day we arrived was cloudy but the morning was bright and sunny and the room got extremely hot, but we could not open the windows due to the smell. The water also smelled and tasted like sulfur, horrible. No wifi in our room.
The check-in staff, our first interaction with the hotel itself, was short and rude, acting as if I was trying to cheat the hotel out of money because I had opted to pay for our stay at the hotel - an option they had given me in the first place! In none of the communication that they sent did they indicate that it needed to be paid for before arriving.
Do not go here. The hotel itself is perfectly fine, but the smell is horrendeous and it was the most expensive place we stayed at throughout our trip in Iceland.
