I had booked and paid for a superior room with terrace for my 10-year old daughter, my 84-year old handicapped mother an myself.
Unfortunately we soon felt that the airconditioning was blowing out warm air instead of cold air. 28-30 C degrees warm outside and it almost felt warmer inside because of the warm air and humidity in the room. The girl in the reception came back with a fan. The girl in the reception had a very grumpy attitude and felt impolite. She made me feel like “why are you bothering me?”.
We slept badly due to the heat in the room.
The day after they tried to fix the AC after we told them to. We thought it would get better, but when we came home from dinner around 11 pm we realised it was even hotter in the room. We were offered another room on the third floor without balcony and with a double bed instead of twin beds. There the AC was working properly.
The day after I spoke to the hotel manager to get compensation, but she insisted the compensation being the new room they offered. After discussions she offered 10% off our spa treatments (34 EUR) in compensation which I didn’t feel was enough considering all the trouble and time spent on the trouble with the AC that didn’t work properly, having to move late in the evening when you just want to go to sleep. It feels like they are still living in the ”Eastern bloc” time. In addition at breakfast they served warm juices, yogurts, ham, butter etc. The ham was sweating and the bacon consisted of 90-95% fat!
