I’ve stayed in various all inclusive hotels in Punta Cana and Mexico, and Bahia Principe Aquamarine has been the most dissatisfying. The hotel is in urgent need of remodeling, specifically in the hallways, inside the rooms and the bathrooms. The rooms and bathrooms have an outdated look; walls and doors stained; broken tiles in the hallways; bothersome musty smell inside the rooms and don’t get me started with the rusty tiles inside the showers that give an appearance of filth. Upon arrival we had to ask for a change of room after finding dirt and hairs inside our shower and experiencing issues with the sim card that gives electricity to the room. Without the card, neither the light or air conditioning of the room turns on. We were given 3 different sim cards that did not work due to an apparent technical issue. After bringing these situations to the front desk, we were met with defensive and rude employees that were in a very limited position to solve the problem. However, the experience with employees in all the restaurants and entertainment area was the complete opposite; they were all lovely and caring, bringing lively and fun vibes to my birthday celebration. Food was regular in the restaurants, but the buffet area left so much more to desire with the food and appearance. Table cloths were stained; utensils seem to be reused for years and, once again, floor tiles were broken in some areas. Will not be coming back to Aquamarine.
