Upon checking in, I went to my room to unpack. While touring the room, I found a cockroach crawling on the shower wall. Pulling back the filthy shower curtain, I killed the beast with some toilet tissue. Lifting the seat to provide a “burial at sea”, I found an even bigger roach crawling around inside the commode. Both were flushed, and then I attended to my Friday business.
Upon returning, I found the smoke detector loudly and annoyingly declaring a low battery. I reported it to the front desk in person. I was told that it would be fixed the next (Saturday) morning. As of check out on Sunday, it was not.
So I settled in to do some reading before falling asleep when a strange man (presumably another guest, but might’ve been a serial killer or rapist) let himself into my room. Someone not in my party had a keycard to my room. I would’ve used the physical latch, but it was broken. Saturday was mostly uneventful until the water from the aircon started pooling in the room. Also, broad daylight really set off the level of filth in the room. If there had been other motel rooms available nearby, I would’ve fled, but there weren’t. I’m afraid that I’ve brought cockroaches home, and this dump should be blsvklisted. I have photos of everything.
